In memory of the late Lorrie Rossant, who was partner in the firm, Building Design Partnership, has provided an award, which will be offered each year and kept by the winner.
The Manchester Society of Architects has been charged with the sole responsibility for making the award, according to the following conditions :-
1. All second year students of the Manchester School of Architecture will be eligable whether student members of the MSA or not.
2. The President of the MSA will appoint a three person first stage jury, consisting of two members of the MSA Council and a member of staff chosen by the Head of School. The jury will select a short list of no more than six candidates based on the second year work displayed by the students at their June assessments.
3. The finalists will be asked to display six varied drawings from their portfolio for the final assessment, which will be arranged by early in the following semester at the offices of BDP.
4. The assessors for the final stage will be :-
a) The President of the Manchester Society of Architects
b) A member of Building Design Partnership
c) A chairman of the Manchester Society of Architects Education Group
d) The Manchester Society of Architects Award Secretary
